Academic Background

I have had an interest in Psychology since my senior year of high school when I first watched the television series Criminal Minds in my Intro to Psychology class. It was incredibly interesting to me and prompted me to major in Psychology during my undergraduate career at Western Illinois University with a minor in Spanish. Additionally, I earned my Masters’ of Liberal Arts and Sciences with an emphasis in Psychology at the same university. During my first graduate program, I realized I wanted more, specialized knowledge in Clinical Psychology which motivated me to apply to doctoral programs. Working with black people that fall under the LGBT+ umbrella has been my goal since the day I decided to pursue this degree.
